From Office Junior to Rising Star – Georgia’s Story

Each year, the IPA Awards shine a spotlight on professionals making a meaningful impact and sometimes, those making quiet yet exceptional progress. Last year’s Rising Star, Georgia, is a perfect example.

Why Nominating Someone Can Change a Career

Last year, Georgia was named the Rising Star Award winner – a recognition of her exceptional development and contribution to the profession. In just over two years, she progressed from Office Junior to Case Administrator, managing a caseload of 70 CVLs. Throughout this rapid growth, Georgia demonstrated strong technical ability, independence, and commitment. She has taken full ownership of her cases – from initial director communications to investigations, report preparation, dividend distributions, and case closure – all while preparing to sit her first insolvency exam.

We recently asked Georgia to reflect on her experience since receiving the award:

“ Winning this award was meaningful to me both personally and professionally. It gave me a renewed sense of confidence in my work and reminded me of the value of perseverance. We often place immense pressure on ourselves to perform, so being recognised for that effort felt incredibly validating! It was also a moment of encouragement which motivated me to take the next step to sit the CPI exam.”

A year on, Georgia says the recognition has had a lasting impact:

“Since receiving the award, I’ve grown more confident and focused. It’s helped me take on greater responsibilities, refine my approach, and appreciate the importance of acknowledging progress – both in myself and in the work I contribute to.”

We asked Georgia why she believes others should be nominated:

“Recognition can be transformative. Nominating someone is an opportunity to celebrate their impact – whether through steady contributions behind the scenes or bold leadership. It’s a way to honour their dedication, boost their confidence and remind them that what they do truly matters.”

Nominations for this year’s awards are now open.
