Have your say: AML/CTF supervision reform: Duties, powers and accountability consultation; upcoming HM Treasury roundtable discussions

18 November 2025

Following the Government’s decision to appoint the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as the future supervisor for Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (AML/CTF) compliance in legal, accountancy, and trust and company service providers, HM Treasury published a consultation on 6 November seeking views on the powers, duties and accountability mechanisms the FCA will need to be an effective supervisor.

Views are welcomed from stakeholders across the AML-regulated population. Your views will be essential in helping to shape a proportionate and robust system that supports both compliance and sectoral growth. This consultation closes on 24 December 2025.

The IPA will be responding to the consultation. If you have any feedback on the proposals that you would like us to share with HM Treasury on your behalf, please email [email protected].
