Kevin Hellard, President

Hi everyone. I write this hot off the back of a fabulous day and evening in London on 11th November, as we held the final Roadshow at Knight Frank’s Baker Street offices and then hopped over to the river to ring in the IPA’s 60 years at the IET, Savoy Place.

I enjoyed addressing attendees alongside our CEO Paul Smith, and former Chief Bankruptcy Registrar, Stephen Baister, as well as presenting Immediate Past President Carrie James with a certificate marking the end of her 2019/20 Presidency. This presentation was deferred from April 2020 in light of Covid restrictions – a fine substitute for it to be awarded at the Reception and I’m sure Carrie agreed! Read a roundup of the recent events and the 60th here.

I hope you will be joining us at Manchester’s Lowry hotel for a back-in-person Personal Insolvency Conference on 25th November. Not long to go until we cover all things personal insolvency and set out the things the IPs need to know, assisted by speakers including Insolvency Service CEO Dean Beale; Jason Costain, Head of Retail Banking Fraud Management at NatWest; and James Jones, Head of Consumer Affairs at Experian. Read more here.

We also still have in store this year a great IPA Learning workshop lined up with Aidan Larkin, Founder and CEO of Asset Reality, who has extensive experience on the complex world of crypto assets and recovering them. Aidan has presented for us before and does a fantastic job of delivering highly useful knowledge to attendees. Book your place here.

We also have in this issue a reminder on discounted Dell IT equipment available to all of our members – I trust this will be of use at one time or another! The IPA continues to work to expend our range of benefits, and we hope to provide further updates soon.

And speaking of membership, to finish I would like to remind anyone still needing to submit their appointment-taker renewal to please do so as soon as possible, ahead of the deadline of 30 November. I believe the membership team have contacted anyone whose renewal is outstanding, and I know they would really appreciate it if it can be taken care of promptly to avoid any issues.
