Member views are needed on the future of insolvency regulation

Due to demand, we will be holding an additional consultation meeting in London on 15 March 2022your final opportunity to meet with us and discuss your views

The Government’s future of insolvency regulation consultation, launched on 21 December 2021, proposes wholesale change to the regulatory framework in the UK. As such, it requires detailed consideration by the entire insolvency profession.

There are elements of the consultation with which we agree, and have been pressing for over recent years, and elements with which we disagree. Consequently, we are keen to gather views from across our membership, particularly on the following points:

  • creating a single, independent government insolvency regulator, the Single Regulator (SR), to sit, with appropriate separation of duties, within the Insolvency Service; and
  • introducing a requirement for authorisation and targeted regulation of firms offering insolvency services, alongside authorisation of individual Insolvency Practitioners.

Due to demand, we have widened the opportunity for members to participate in the IPA’s response to the consultation by holding another member meeting in London. We invite you to arrive at the venue at 12:00pm for a sandwich lunch. The meeting commences at 12:30pm and will conclude at 2:30pm. Refreshments will be provided throughout.

Venue: Office Space in Town Waterloo, 2-6 Boundary Row, London SE1 8HP
