Yin Lee, President
IPA Insolvency Practitioner newsletter, February 2026
And just like that, January is over. Time is flying. One of the things I’m most proud of during my presidency is a focus on IPs in smaller practices. Setting up my own practice reminded me how vital it is to feel supported, especially when support isn’t always easy to find. Let’s be honest, it can be a lonely experience. The IPA was founded as a membership organisation for IPs, and our sense of community still matters.
Our recent Small Practitioner discussion group reinforced this. The conversation was open, practical and highly productive, with colleagues sharing candid experiences and generating clear ideas for how we can strengthen support for small firms. Thank you to everyone who contributed. We will be in touch about future such events.
But the IPA aspires to be the go-to regulator for all IPs, whether you work in big or small firms. To support all our members, we have a high-quality programme of events, training and webinars. And, in BIG news, we have listened to you our members and we are giving you FREE webinars on important core subjects:
- AML Update 2026: 17 March, 12:00-14:00
- Ethics in Insolvency Update 2026: 18 May, 12:00-14:00
These sessions offer timely updates, practical insight and direct access to experts.
If you missed last week’s webinar on dealing with HMRC, the recording is now available (login required).
Finally, wishing everyone a positive February – a short month, but full of opportunity and inspiration.
