Confidence in the Regime: Insolvency Service publishes latest findings
26 June 2026
The Insolvency Service has published its latest ‘Confidence in the Regime’ report, which looks at how the actions and policies of the Service have been received by stakeholders across the insolvency community.
Key findings include:
- Confidence has increased, particularly in the insolvency regime.
- Reforms to Debt Relief Orders (DROs) and Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs) were strongly supported.
- DRO reforms widened access and removed barriers preventing customers entering the DRO at the optimum time.
- Changes around IVAs provided consumers with better information and provided positive steps towards a fairer system.
- Proposals to strengthen Insolvency Practitioner regulation were also welcomed.
Commenting on the findings, Duncan Beach, Chief Executive of the Insolvency Service, said:
“This report clearly shows that the Insolvency Service and our partners across the sector are making meaningful improvements to the insolvency system.”
Next steps for the IPA
The IPA is currently reviewing the report’s findings and will provide further comments in due course. Moving forward, the IPA remains committed to supporting both the Service and its members to ensure the profession effectively meets the evolving needs of the UK economy, while collaborating to help deliver the Service’s five-year strategy.
