Marcial Boo, CEO
IPA Insolvency Practitioner newsletter, December 2025
Dear members,
It’s good to know that Duncan Beach has been appointed Chief Executive of the Insolvency Service. I will meet him in early January to brief him on insolvency regulation and the good work of the IPA, and to continue to support and advance the profession.
Part of my conversation with Duncan will be about recent Government policy. You can read in this newsletter our response to the FCA’s consultation on Motor Finance Redress and our views on the Insolvency Service’s Personal Insolvency Review. We will also shortly publish our response to HM Treasury’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) Supervision Reform. Each of these policy developments has significant implications for IPs. As such, the IPA is actively engaged on your behalf to ensure that the future insolvency landscape is effective.
Looking ahead, the IPA’s 2026 events programme is taking shape. The IPA Awards Gala Charity Dinner is in March and our Annual Conference in April. I hope you can come. There will also be our regular specialist conferences in 2026, on AML & Fraud in Birmingham and on Personal Insolvency Conference in Manchester, as well as an expanded series of IPA Roadshows and more IPA Learning webinars. We are providing more opportunities for you to stay informed and engaged in response to your feedback and the success of our already full 2025 programme.
I look forward to working with you next year. In the meantime, I wish you all a happy and restful festive season. Thank you for your continued support this year. I look forward to the IPA being an even better membership organisation and regulator to support you in the year ahead.
Best wishes,
Marcial Boo
