Adrian Hyde, President, IPA; Partner, Begbies Traynor


Adrian is an Insolvency Practitioner and a Solicitor. Prior to joining CVR (acquired by Begbies Traynor Group in 2021), he was a Partner in two well-known law firms, specialising in insolvency, proceeds of crime and fraud work.

Experienced in working on a wide range of insolvency matters, the majority of Adrian’s assignments involve crime or dishonesty and many involve overseas issues at offshore jurisdictions and business centres.

Adrian has split his time between London and Gibraltar while working on the liquidation of an international law firm. This has provided an opportunity to focus on the expansion of Begbies Traynor’s international business.

Graeme Chaplin, Agent West Midlands and Oxfordshire, Bank of England


Graeme was appointed as Agent for the West Midlands & Oxfordshire in November 2008.

He joined the Bank in 1992 and has undertaken a variety of roles in Threadneedle Street, including banking supervision, economic analysis and financial stability monitoring.

From 2001 to 2008 he was the Bank’s Deputy Agent for North West England.

His qualifications are: MA (Cantab) in English Literature from Trinity Hall, Cambridge and MSc in Economics from University College, London.

Graeme was born on 4 December 1968 and lives in Solihull. He is married with three daughters. His outside interests include tennis and walking.




RPS: A Focus on Ongoing Claims Issues



Giles Ecart, Redundancy Payments Service (RPS) Team, Insolvency Service


Giles has worked for the Insolvency Service for 33 years. He has worked in a number of areas including; Official Receiver Services; Investigation and Enforcement Services; Insolvency Practitioner Regulation; and most recently Redundancy Payments Service (RPS) for the past 13 years either as the sole or joint senior leader responsible for the day to day operations.



Jason Hunter, Redundancy Payments Service (RPS) Team, Insolvency Service


Jason has worked for the Insolvency Service for 23 years, mostly for the Redundancy Payments Service. Initially I worked as an administrations officer, then as an audit inspector on high profile early-intervention insolvencies such as British Steel, Thomas Cook, and Carillion. I’ve also acted as a lay representative where I have represented the Secretary of State at Employment Tribunals. I worked for Official Receiver Services as an examiner for six years dealing with both debtor and creditors petition bankruptcies, and since 2021 I have worked for the Chief Executive’s Technical Team. I am currently the Deputy Chief Technical Officer, providing solutions to complex technical queries on redundancy payments matters from both internal and external stakeholders.

John Pennie, Senior Vice President, Marsh


John Pennie was for 33 years a partner in Womble Bond Dickinson specialising in Insolvency, Restructuring, Chancery Litigation and Intellectual Property. He served on the Lord Chancellor’s Insolvency Rules Committee for the 10 year maximum term and he was the moderator of the Personal Insolvency paper in the JIEB exam for over 25 years. While working as a lawyer he yearned for certain risk mitigation insurance tools and after joining JLT/ Marsh in 2017 he has set about filling some of the gaps he noticed when in practice. In addition to his work at Marsh he has 7 other directorships and runs a small herd of beef cattle.

Stuart Jary, Inspector, IPA


Stuart Jary is an Inspector at the Insolvency Practitioner’s Association. Stuart joined the IPA as a regulatory officer and has extensive industry experience having worked for FRP Advisory, PwC and HMRC.

Charlotte May, Associate Director, Manolete Partners PLC


Charlotte is based primarily in the South West and Wales. She is experienced in complex commercial disputes with specialist expertise in property, negligence, and insolvency. Charlotte qualified as a solicitor in 2009. In December 2018, Charlotte joined Manolete from national firm Burges Salmon LLP where she worked on high profile retail and property insolvencies. Charlotte is the current Chair for R3 South West & Wales.

Alison Kirby is Associate Director for the Eastern region and has over 25 years of experience as a solicitor in all aspects of insolvency and corporate recovery law. She joined Manolete in March 2019. Alison’s focus is on the East of England insolvency market, and she is based in Norfolk.

Chris Ramadhar, Financial Intelligence Officer, National SARs Intelligence Team, Regional Organised Crime Unit for the West Midlands Region


Chris is a retired police Sergeant having served with both West Midlands police and Warwickshire police. During his career, he spent almost a decade working on the Economic Crime Team and dealing proactively with Money Laundering cases. Having retired in 2021, Chris re-joined West Midlands police ROCU where he is now part of the National Sar’s Intelligence Team (SIDT) developing financial intelligence.


Mollie Dale, Financial Investigator, National SARs Intelligence Team, Regional Organised Crime Unit for the West Midlands Region


Mollie is based within the Regional Economic Crime Unit (RECU) within ROCU. Mollie is an integral part of the National SARs Development Team. She has a wealth of experience having worked as a SAR Researcher and brings to ROCU her expertise and skills as a Financial Investigator which she acquired after completing her academia era at University in 2019.
