IPA Insolvency Practitioner newsletter, March 2026
Spring always brings a sense of renewal to the IPA calendar, and this year is no exception. Two of our flagship events are just around the corner: the IPA Awards Gala Charity Dinner and the IPA Annual Conference.
The Awards on 12 March are always a highlight, shining a light on the talent and dedication across our community. I’ll be hosting the evening and capturing a few moments with my camera too. In April, the IPA’s Annual Conference will bring practitioners, policymakers and experts together to explore the issues shaping our profession. This year’s programme promises lively discussion, practical insight and the chance to connect with colleagues from across the UK.
Both events will help raise money for the IPA’s chosen charity, Dementia UK. This cause is deeply personal to me; my mother had early-onset dementia and lived with it for ten years. In the latter part of her life, the support provided by Admiral Nurses made an immeasurable difference to our family. I’ve raised money for them and others through my photography too. Do contact me at President@ipa.uk.com if you would like a portrait, with all proceeds going to Dementia UK.
Our events are also an opportunity to celebrate our sector’s increasing diversity. In the context of International Women’s Day on 8 March, it’s inspiring to see women thriving at every level in insolvency. With Louise Brittain as Vice-President, Amanda Wade as Deputy Vice-President and myself as President, this is the first time in IPA history that three women are leading at the top of the sector’s only UK regulator. A milestone worth celebrating.
Finally, I want to thank all the great professionals who came to our recent Small Practitioners discussion group in February. We discussed how the IPA can become an even better regulator and professional body for its members. It was an open, constructive conversation, and we look forward to future meetings. This kind of engagement is exactly what strengthens our profession.
