The application process
Membership criteria for all membership categories and application forms can be found here.
Membership and Licence applications are considered by the Regulation and Conduct Committee which usually meets every 4-6 weeks. The Committee may sometimes have extra questions, and the secretariat may contact you to follow up. If you are applying for a licence and have been licensed by another body, we may contact that body for information about your past experience. The outcome of your application will be communicated to you as soon as a decision has been made.
Please take into consideration the following timeframe when applying for your licence.
- Application received and checked with other Regulatory Professional bodies – 2 weeks
- Application considered by Regulation and Conduct Committee – 2 -3 weeks prior to the meeting.
- Minutes approved and outcome confirmed to Membership team – usual timeframe is 15 business days
