IPA events survey insights

In 2020, the IPA pivoted many of its annual events to an online format. These events were met with success and pleasing feedback from members.
We are now considering IPA events and whether we might usefully adopt a more hybrid event calendar to better meet our members’ needs. Our ongoing work in membership engagement involved surveying members about their event preferences, and we thank all respondents for taking part and providing invaluable feedback.
Our work on future IPA events continues. In the meantime, we would like to share some key insights from the survey with you in this article.
We noted that members value the ability to network with peers, interact with speakers and take an active role in sessions. When attending online events, we recognised members’ appreciation of the ability to book right up to the deadline, but also that live events offer more engagement opportunities with peers. The three charts below illustrate members’ views on events formats, feelings around safety after Covid-19 restrictions are lifted and online/in-person preferences for particular events.
Our findings will go a long way to inform our future events programming strategy.
