New AML and whistleblowing guidance documents

IPA Insolvency Practitioner newsletter, April 2024

Guidance documents and checklists are regularly updated on the AML Hub section of the IPA website.

Recent published guidance documents are:

  • Review and update of High-Risk Indicators – this is an important document for members and NOs as Reg 18(2) advises that as part of a firm-wide risk assessment, you must take into account information made available to you by your supervisory authority. The IPA would therefore expect that supervised firms are reviewing and considering the high-risk indicators published and the impact on AML risk for work being undertaken
  • General guidance on AML matters as they will assist IPs
  • Whistleblowing policy for disclosures to the IPA
  • Whistleblowing guidance for members – this document has been drafted to look to assist members with your own internal policy and procedures on whistleblowing. Currently the guidance covers Scotland, Wales & England and guidance specific to Northern Ireland will be published shortly
