We are delighted to announce that the IPA will be taking over as secretariat to the Joint Insolvency Committee (JIC) from April 2021.
As you may know, the JIC membership comprises the insolvency Recognised Professional Bodies (RPBs), the Insolvency Service, the Insolvency Service, Northern Ireland and five lay members from related fields. We look forward to serving the JIC in this role as we and the other members continue to develop, improve and maintain insolvency standards from a regulatory, ethical and best practice perspective.
Upcoming committee work includes revisions to SIPs 3.1 and 16, given the new regulations on pre-packs which are due to come into effect before June. The JIC will be reviewing how the Corporate Insolvency and Governance Act is working in practice on an ongoing basis, in case a new SIP or guidance is required for the role of Monitor. Similarly, the new Breathing Space regulations due to come into effect in May 2021 will be kept under review. Further work is to be planned.
The JIC establishes sub-groups to progress work. IPA members are welcome to register their interest with us to be part of a working group when the need arises. Please email membership@ipa.uk.com.
