Disciplinary Hearings

Disciplinary hearings are usually open to the press and public, subject to the powers of the Tribunal Chair (or the Tribunal) to exclude the public from the whole or any part of a hearing pursuant to the Insolvency Practitioners Association’s Disciplinary Rules 18 to 22.  Disciplinary Rule 22 ordinarily provides that  a pre-hearing notice will be published on the Association’s website not more than seven days in advance of the hearing.  In the circumstances arising as a result of Covid-19, the Disciplinary Chair has directed that until further notice hearings of Disciplinary Tribunals will be held virtually with the result that the public will be excluded from the hearing of Formal Complaints and that no pre-hearing notices will be published on the Association’s website.

Any requests from the public for access should be made through [email protected] and individual requests will then be considered by the chairman.
