IPA Insolvency Practitioner newsletter, March 2025
Dear members,
I was delighted to celebrate the worthy winners at last week’s IPA Awards, held in support of our Charity of the Year, Feeding Britain, who received our cheque for £10,000 to support their work. Well done to the award winners, as well as to all nominees. It was a fitting celebration of the important work that takes place in the insolvency profession.
More congratulations to the 96 people who last week passed their JIE exams, becoming eligible to take insolvency appointments. We at the IPA understand and applaud the hard work that goes into preparing to take this important exam. For those unsuccessful this time, keep up your momentum and take the exam again when you feel ready.
There are exams for others too, particularly the IPA’s foundation qualifications, the CPI and CPPI, where there will be sittings on 9 June. We have registrations open from now until 21 May. You need a student IPA membership to register. There will be other sittings of the CPI England & Wales on 17 November.
This month the IPA also held a roundtable discussion on the future regulation of insolvency firms, with representatives from over a dozen firms as well as the Insolvency Service. I am grateful to those who attended. We will hold further discussions with our members in June after the Insolvency Service publishes its plans.
In this newsletter, please note the changes to the countries designated as high-risk in terms of AML by the Financial Action Task Force. And the Wales Roadshow in Cardiff taking place on 25 March. I look forward to seeing some of you there.
Best wishes,
Marcial Boo
